Old vs. New Prunies®: What Has Changed?
Prunies® are back with a few changes. If you have tried them before, here is what is different about the relaunched Prunies® and what you can still count on.
What is different?
-
A softer texture and a new shape. The relaunched Prunies have a softer bite and a rounded gumdrop shape.
- Larger pieces and an updated age recommendation. The new pieces are larger, so Prunies® are now intended for ages 4 and up, compared with the previous recommendation of 2 and up.
- More fiber and potassium, with less sugar. Each pouch now has 2 grams more fiber and 550 milligrams more potassium than the previous version. The new Prunies® have slightly more calories but less total sugar.
What is the same?
- Real prunes at the heart of every pouch. Prunies® still make real prunes more fun to eat, with four simple ingredients: prune puree, apple juice concentrate, agar and cornstarch for dusting.
- No added sugar. The sweetness still comes from the fruit ingredients, with no artificial sweeteners, colors, flavors or preservatives.
- Still effective. The shape and texture have changed, but Prunies® still provide the gentle digestive support of real prunes. They remain a convenient way to work prunes into your routine, at home or while traveling.
- Resealable, compostable packaging. Enjoy some now and save the rest for later. Prunies® still come in a resealable, compostable pouch that is easy to take along.
-
Still plant-based. We continue to use agar, a seaweed-derived ingredient, instead of gelatin.
